Speaking to Birmingham City’s official media, Harry Redknapp has revealed his side need at least one victory between now and the end of the season to survive in the Sky Bet Championship.

Redknapp replaced Gianfranco Zola as Birmingham’s manager yesterday morning, after the Italian endured a difficult time at St Andrews’, which had seen the club slip into relegation trouble.

Birmingham are just above the Championship’s relegation zone, and Redknapp has admitted it will be a challenge keeping the club in the division, but highlighted what should help them to survival, he said:

“I know it's a challenge but I love football and this is a big club to be part of. We need at least one win to be safe."

Redknapp faces a difficult task of picking up a victory in the remaining three fixtures, which begin with a Second-City derby against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Following this weekend’s fixtures, Birmingham face Huddersfield Town and Bristol City to complete their run-in.

The Blues are currently 20th in the Championship table and three-points above the bottom-three.
