Marcelo Bielsa will know the importance of his Leeds United side bouncing back this weekend against Rotherham United, with the Whites losing three of their last four Championship fixtures.

Leeds’ difficult run of form hasn’t damaged their position in the promotion race, but they could do with a win against a struggling Rotherham side in South Yorkshire this weekend.

In the reverse fixture, back in August, Leeds won 2-0, with Kemar Roofe producing an excellent performance at Elland Road.

In our latest FLW Spotlight, we take a look at the 26-year-old’s effort on that sunny afternoon:

As our graphic shows, Roofe chipped in with an assist for Luke Ayling’s opener, as well as calmly stroking home Leeds’ second to put the game out of reach.

That goal came from one of six shots at goal, with other areas of the forward’s game also impressing.

Roofe completed one successful dribble and one key pass, with the remainder of his other passes coming at a success rate of 94.4%.

The Verdict

Roofe has been so involved all season for Leeds, with his stats from the previous clash with Rotherham showing that with his goal and assist.

The goal came from six shots at goal, which isn’t that impressive, but when you consider Roofe’s other contributions, it was a good afternoon for the forward.

A 94.4% pass success rate shows why he was preferred to Patrick Bamford at the start of the season, with Roofe’s link-up play suiting Leeds and their style under Marcelo Bielsa.

This weekend, Leeds need more of this from Roofe.

They’ve been toothless in the final third, particularly against Stoke City last weekend, and should be looking to put Rotherham to the sword.

Roofe replicating this kind of performance will be key to Leeds’ success.
