‘Redeemed himself’ – Many Nottingham Forest fans react to 32-year-old’s mixed Brentford display

Nottingham Forest came from behind to rescue a point against Brentford at the weekend.
The Reds signed off before the international break with a 1-1 draw in West London, after responding to a defeat to Norwich in midweek.
Ivan Toney scored his 28th goal of the campaign from the penalty spot in the first half, after he was pulled down by Gaetan Bong in the area from a corner.

Bong was struggling at this point, and was struggling to deal with the pace on show through Bryan Mbeumo and Toney.
But in the second half, he made an excellent block to keep Brentford at bay, and it was his cross which led to Filip Krovinovic coolly slotting in from close-range.
Bong came off injured soon after that, but the left-back went a long way in redeeming himself after what was a below-par first half display.
Here’s what fans made of his performance at the weekend…
He got better but you cant afford to give teams a 1 goal start.

Christie had a great game, totally agree. Even Bong had a decent second half. Garner controls the game so well though for such a young lad. Got some future ahead of him.
