Reda Johnson has sent a message to Sheffield Wednesday supporters following the departure of Garry Monk.

But Wednesday have won only three of their opening 11 league matches, and performances had dwindled under Monk, leaving the club no choice but to sack him.

There will be plenty of names under consideration by the club as they look to replace the 41-year-old, as the Owls look to climb the table and move away from the relegation zone.

Reda Johnson - who is adored by many Wednesday fans for his lengthy spell with the club - has sent a tongue in cheek message to fans following Monk's departure.

The former defender has asked fans whether they would love to see him 'back home', hinting at a potential return.

The Verdict

This is a rather interesting message sent by Johnson.

It remains to be seen what he means by the comment. I'm sure it's only tongue in cheek, as he isn't ready to manage a club like Wednesday and doesn't have any experience.

Wednesday fans will be hoping that the club can return to the glory days and replicate the success they had when Johnson was at the club sooner rather than later.
