Leeds United defender Paudie O'Connor has an eventful night for his current loan club Blackpool, scoring and being sent off as they took Arsenal all the way in the League Cup.

O'Connor became the first player to be dismissed after scoring in a League Cup match since Lewis Cook did it, ironically for Leeds United against Doncaster Rovers in August 2015.

His goal set up a tense finish during which the Gunners held on but Blackpool did themselves proud, despite O'Connor's 84th minute dismissal, which left both sides with ten men.

The Limerick born 21-year old had impressed up until his late foul, but his night of contrasting fortunes didn't go unnoticed at his parent club.

Leeds fans were all over Twitter with comments about the card, which seemed to be the main talking point. Some felt his tackle was dangerous and endangering, whilst others felt it warranted little more than a booking.

Here's the best of the responses from Leeds fans and even an interjection from a Limerick supporter, with whom O'Connor began his career.
