Mark Little appears to have taken a parting shot at Bolton Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson following his departure from the club.

Bristol Rovers confirmed this morning that they had completed the signing of the right back, which will officially be completed on the 1st July following the expiration of his contract with Wanderers.

Little made 35 appearances in his two seasons at Bolton, but featured just twice in the league this season as Bolton were relegated to League One, and Little appears to have suggested that that was down to manager Phil Parkinson, rather than any fitness issues.

After Bolton News journalist Marc Iles reacted to the news of Little departure on Twitter by saying he was 'baffled' by Little's lack of game time at the club, the 30-year-old provided this response.

Little will soon get the chance to prove his point to his former side, with Bolton's relegation to League One meaning they will now come up against Bristol Rovers next season.

The verdict

This is an interesting comment.

It certainly seems to suggest that Little was left out of Bolton's side by choice, and given the view of club's fans on both Little and Parkinson, that is unlikely to go down well amongst the Bolton faithful.

There will however be a sense of relief at Bristol Rovers that this appears to rule out any fitness concerns around their new signing.
