Sunderland manager Simon Grayson is looking to bring AFC Bournemouth winger Max Gradel to the Stadium of Light, according to HITC.

Grayson knows Gradel well after managing him during a successful time at Leeds as they won promotion back to the Championship, and now the former Preston North End boss wants to reunite with the talented winger.

Since making the move to the south coast Gradel has failed to make an impact with the Cherries, hindered with injuries and poor form, and he is reportedly keen to move to pastures new to re-discover some form.

After a dreadful last season, the Black Cats will be desperate for a fresh start under their new boss and some new players and Gradel could be one player that could lift their spirits.

The 29-year-old would certainly be an impressive coup for any Championship side and if Sunderland can strike a deal for the attacker then he could be a real menace in the Championship next season.

Simon Grayson is already trying to put the building blocks in place for a promotion push next season and a deal for Gradel would be a good step in doing so.

Sunderland fans... Would you be happy with the signing of Gradel? Can you win the race for his signature? Are you impressed with Grayson so far? Let us know what you think in the comments!
