Recent report allays Sunderland fears in rare piece of positive news

Things at Sunderland are continuing to disappoint right now with the men from the Stadium of Light once again losing last night in the Championship.

After an initially decent start this season, the Black Cats are now in a rut and Simon Grayson needs to sort things out before their outlook this year becomes really difficult.

For sure, Grayson was appointed to navigate these uncertain times and he will at least be relieved to hear that any suggestion that administration was around the corner is unfounded – as per Chronicle Live.

Indeed, the Black Cats really are strapped for cash financially and so some may have been worried that this was going to happen next but it seems as though they don’t have to worry about that now.

Ellis Short is still funding the club right now, then, but it’s more than likely that he’ll want a new set of owners to come in and provide enough cash to offer the team some more ambitious prospects than just surviving.

Things aren’t great at the north-east club right now, then, and they’ll be hoping that results on the pitch turn around before too long this season.

The Verdict

Administration really would cap things off for Sunderland but it does look as though those fears needn’t get too much attention for now at least.

The club is in financial trouble in the sense that it doesn’t really have much money going into it or to throw about but they are still afloat and if Simon Grayson and his players can turn around results on the pitch there should be a fairly positive atmosphere to be attained.
