Bolton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest ended up figuring in each other's fortunes quite a bit last season in the Championship.

Forest, of course, prior to last year had signed Zach Clough from the Trotters and we saw the attacker and team-mate Tyler Walker head to the Macron as they aimed for survival in 2017/18.

Neither, though, really hit the ground running for the Lancashire side before they beat Forest on the final day to stay up but that doesn't mean the club should avoid dealing with the Reds again this summer.

Many are expecting Forest to go for it in the window this season and looking at their arrivals so far, there's no reason to suggest otherwise will be the case.

And, with that apparent, it's also clear that a number of the Reds' young players may once again have to move out on loan.

Jorge Grant, then, is someone Bolton should be looking at.

He's spent his last couple of years on loan at Notts County and last season he showed he's ready to step up from League Two football.

The Championship, of course, is more than a significant jump from the fourth tier but that's not to say it cannot be done and, actually, Forest may even prefer it if he threw himself in the deep end.

They want to give him a chance at the club but he's still an unknown quantity as regards this level of football.

Bolton, obviously, don't want to take unneeded risks but not every gamble is a bad one and though Clough and Walker didn't deliver the desired impacts, there's no reason to say Grant wouldn't.
