The recent appointment of Neil Harris as Cardiff City's new manager will give a chance for each member of the squad to show what they are capable of.

That will include striker Robert Glatzel, who has found himself in the midst of a rough patch in front of goal for the Bluebirds.

The 25-year-old German attacker last found the net against Hull City on the 28th September - almost two months ago.

Despite that recent record, luck has not been on Glatzel's side, as he struck the woodwork against Sheffield Wednesday and had a goal disallowed against West Bromwich Albion.

He joined Cardiff from German second tier side FC Heidenheim for a fee of £5.5 million in the summer, after impressing for the club in the previous two seasons.

The German may have been disappointed to see Neil Warnock leave the Welsh Capital, as the former Cardiff boss put his faith in the striker. It was reported previously that Warnock has spend five weeks trying to secure his signature. He has also recently been struggling with a hamstring injury which has kept him out of first-team action for Cardiff in the past few weeks.

Nevertheless, Glatzel may be relishing the chance of playing under Neil Harris, as his height and physical presence can be a dangerous asset for Cardiff, especially as Harris likes his teams to play direct.

Glatzel stands at just over 6'3 inches tall, giving the team an added aerial threat from set-pieces. According to WhoScored, the German wins an average of just under 5 aerial duels per game.

He will be hoping that Neil Harris can recognise the strengths he can offer the team in attack, but it will be down to him to recapture the form he showed at the beginning of the season, as Cardiff desperately need to improve their performances from the outset and climb up the table.

As Harris stated in his opening press conference as Cardiff manager, he is willing to give everyone a chance at the club, including fringe players.

Therefore, Glatzel also needs to be looking over his shoulder as it may mean Omar Bogle and Danny Ward get more opportunities in attack.
