Swansea have enjoyed a great start to the season under the stewardship of manager Steve Cooper, who has led the Swans to five wins and two draws in their opening eight games, yielding a points return of 17 from a possible 24, a run that has seen the Swans up to second in the Championship table.
The Swansea boss bought in a total of six new players to supplement their existing squad, with players such as Freddie Woodman and Ben Wilmot joining on loan from Newcastle and Watford respectively this summer.
It is Wilmot who has so far not been given much of a chance to impress so far this season, with the 19-year-old defender only having appeared in two Carabao Cup games so far this season, contributing one assist in the process – his lack of game time can be largely put down to the good form displayed by fellow centre halves Mike van der Hoorn and Joe Rodon this season.
Despite playing only a handful of cup games, a lot of Watford fans have called for the club to recall their young loanee, particularly after reading Wilmot’s comments ahead of tonight’s Carabao Cup game. Here’s how Watford fans reacted to the defender’s view on social media….
