West Brom confirmed the loan addition of Leicester City winger Marc Albrighton late on during yesterday's Deadline Day.

The 33-year-old, who has only managed six Premier League appearances this season, was not the only Baggies arrival yesterday with Nathaniel Chalobah also putting pen-to-paper at The Hawthorns.

Albrighton has amassed over 300 matches at Premier League level, with the vast majority of those appearances coming with the Foxes, whilst he has also gained experience in the Europa League and Champions League.

West Brom currently sit 10th in the second tier standings and are a mere two points from the much-desired play-off positions.

Three of our writers have shared their thoughts on Albrighton's addition and whether or not we can expect to see him as a guaranteed starter at The Hawthorns in what remains of this season...

Billy Mulley

Albrighton is a player that will bring excellent quality and experience to The Hawthorns as the Baggies look to secure a play-off spot during the last 18 games of this campaign.

He is also an extremely versatile option for West Brom to now have in their ranks, and whilst being a right-winger by trade, he can be trusted on the opposite flank, as a full-back and as a central midfielder.

Looking at the 4-2-3-1 formation that Carlos Corberan has succeeded with thus far in the Midlands, Albrighton could be deployed in the three positions supporting Daryl Dike.

Despite him having a good opportunity to start regularly for the Baggies, they are a confident bunch at the moment and he will have to work hard to make his way into Corberan's starting XI.

Josh Cole

This has the hallmarks of being a really shrewd bit of business by West Brom as Albrighton has shown during his career that he is capable of delivering the goods at a higher level than the Championship.

The 33-year-old has managed to provide a respectable total of 70 direct goal contributions in the top-flight and thus will be confident in his ability to make a difference in the second tier.

Providing that he is able to hit the ground running for the Baggies, it would not be at all surprising if Albrighton establishes himself as a key member of their starting eleven.

With Albrighton in their side, there is every chance that West Brom will be able to secure a place in the play-offs later this year which will provide them with the opportunity to seal promotion via a trip to Wembley Stadium.

Declan Harte

Albrighton will bring a level of experience to West Brom’s attacking options that will be quite useful.

The winger isn’t quite at his best these days, but still has enough talent to compete at a Championship level to a high standard.

It is likely he has been signed as a rotation option for Carlos Corberan’s side given the strength of their attacking talents.

But he will be able to provide a lot of threat from out wide and his delivery could make for a great partnership with Daryl Dike, as well as being a useful asset from dead ball situations.
