Phil Parkinson has named his starting XI for the FA Cup First Round Replay against Gillingham this evening, which has drawn a frustrated response from many fans of the North East club.

The Black Cats face the League One side at Priestfield Stadium this evening after they drew 1-1 with the Gills at home 10 days ago.

Parkinson's options are greatly reduced due to the international break and injury issues, meaning a number of U21s players were called up to the matchday squad.

It appears Parkinson has set up in a back three with Alim Ozturk, Laurens De Bock and 20-year-old Brandon Taylor at centre-back, and Luke O'Nien and Denver Hume outside them at wing-back.

Max Power and Grant Leadbitter look likely play in central midfield, behind a front three of Chris Maguire, Will Grigg, and Duncan Watmore.

The Sunderland boss has won just twice in his first eight games in charge, slipping to defeat in four of those.

The Black Cats were knocked out of the EFL Trophy last week after losing to Scunthorpe in their final group game.

It appears fans of the North East club fear they may suffer a similar fate this evening after seeing the starting line up and took to Twitter to express their concern.
