Reading youngster extends stay at Madejski Stadium

Sky Bet Championship side Reading have confirmed on their official website that striking prospect Dominic Samuel has signed a new deal with the club, which will see him stay at the Madjeski Stadium until the summer of 2018.
Samuel signed professionally with the Berkshire club in 2012, and has spent time out on loan with Colchester United, Dagenham & Redbridge and Coventry City – the latter of which where he caught the eye after scoring six goals in 13 games for the League One club in the second half of last season.
However, a knee injury has kept the 21-year-old out of contention recently after initially impressing in pre-season and the early stages of this season.
While he may struggle to get into the side once fit following the summer arrivals of Matej Vydra and Orlando Sa, he is clearly rated very highly by manager Steve Clarke, and will bolster the array of attacking options at the Madejski Stadium.
Clarke told the official site: ‘Dominic thoroughly deserves his new contract and we are delighted that he will continue to develop his career here at Reading FC.
‘He is another young player who has benefited from our use of the loan system after a very successful spell at Coventry City last season.’
Clarke’s side travel to Bristol City in the Championship this afternoon, looking to get back to winning ways after losing 1-0 to Derby County in midweek.
