Drenthe could be set to leave Reading for Turkey

Drenthe was supposedly in talks with a club in China over a move away from the Royals, but talks stalled according to Steve Clarke.

He is now in talks with Erciyesspor over a move to Turkey, although the if talks break down between the two then a move to China could still be done.

The ex-Real Madrid player has caused lots of controversy at Reading since signing in 2013. He recently described Reading as a club with 'issues', sparking an even stronger agenda against him from the fans.

The 27-year-old also posted a picture on Snapchat saying 'Leaving' with a picture of his packed bag and clearly looks to be leaving Reading this month.

Drenthe spent the first half of the season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday where he impressed fans but it looks like he won't be returning to Hillsborough.

Reading played Fulham over the weekend, but were defeated 2-1 by the side, after a late winner from Bryan Ruiz gave the home side three points.

Fulham took the lead through Kacaniklic before Pavel Pogrebnyak levelled for the Royals.

Manager Steve Clarke said to Sky Sports after the game: "Goalscorers thrive on goals and it was a fantastic header [by Pogrebnyak]. Pav has been working hard. He's been out for a long spell - for five and half weeks before I came into the club.

"We've nursed him back. We got a good hour last week and he got longer this week. I thought him and Simon Cox ran themselves into the ground."

Reading currently sit 18th position in the Sky Bet Championship, having accumulated 30 points this season.
