Football League World's Sam Rourke will be live at the Madejski Stadium this evening as Reading play host to Coventry City in the Sky Bet Championship.

It's been 17 days since Reading's last league fixture due to Covid-19 issues postponing their clash with Brentford on Saturday and the FA Cup before that, so Veljko Paunovic's side will be keen to continue where they left off last time in the league after their 2-1 away win at Huddersfield.

The Royals know a victory here will aid their push for promotion with them currently situated in sixth place in the table, whilst for Mark Robins' side, a win here will ease any fears of relegation with them currently in 17th spot.

Coventry won the reverse fixture at St Andrew's back in October, winning 3-2 in what turned out to be an entertaining clash in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Team and injury news

Reading still have to contend with several injuries to a number of their key stars with club captain Liam Moore still sidelined with injury.

Yakou Meite, Lewis Gibson, George Puscas, Andy Yiadom and Felipe Araruna are also out for the Royals.

Puscas is undergoing groin surgery for a hernia and is set to miss another month of league action for Paunovic's side.

The Royals are likely to see Tom Holmes and Tom McIntyre continue in the back-line, whilst John Swift is fit and available and likely to start this evening.

Lucas Joao is also expected to lead the line after his brace at the John Smith's Stadium in the Royals' last Championship outing.

As for Coventry, they have a number of absentees with Jodi Jones, Tyler Walker and Liam Kelly all unavailable for this evening's clash in Berkshire.

Coventry goalkeeper Marko Marosi is also a doubt for tonight with Ben Wilson likely to start in between the sticks for the away side.

New signing Viktor Gyokeres could be handed a start up-front for Robins' side after signing on loan from Brighton, with Max Biamou likely to partner him in attack.

Stats

The Royals are undefeated in their last five home matches against Coventry City in all competitions, keeping a clean sheet in their last three home matches against the Sky Blues.

The Sky Blues have failed to score in five of their last six competitive games, which certainly bodes will for the home side, though Robins will be hoping new signing Gyokeres can add some firepower to their attack.

Coventry have won just nine points from a possible 36 away from home this season.

Where to watch the game?

This evening's clash at the Madejski Stadium is being shown live on Sky Sports Arena with kick-off scheduled for 6pm.
