What a season Reading have had this season, and whether in the Premier League or Championship, they'll be hoping to capitalise on it this summer.

The Royals are currently fifth in the Championship and will hope to go fourth this weekend in a top-of-the-table clash with Leeds United, who currently sit in fourth.

No one expected the club to be chasing the play offs this year, with many tipping them as outsiders for relegation to League One, but the appointment of Jaap Stam seems to have been the defining difference this season.

The club made some shrewd acquisitions last summer that also heavily contributed to this turn around, with a fair number of them coming from the countries biggest clubs, such as Tyler Blackett from Manchester United and John Swift from Chelsea.

They could do the same this year, and here are two young talents from Chelsea for them to consider.

Lewis Baker

Baker has spent the last two seasons on loan at Chelsea's partner club Vitesse Arnhem, in Holland, but does have previous experience in England with loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons.

He's fired in nine goals from midfield for the Dutch side this season, and given the success of John Swift when let loose in midfield for the Royals, Baker could go in a similar direction.

Whether they could waggle him away from Chelsea on a permanent deal is a tricky question to answer, but it certainly wouldn't be impossible.

I think the 21-year-old would benefit from a permanent move to Reading, and it would certainly be a shrewd signing.

Tammy Abraham

Here is a player that Reading certainly wouldn't be able to bring in permanently, given the promise Abraham has shown on loan at Bristol City this year.

The 19-year-old has put away that amount of goals - 19 - for Bristol City this season, replacing the outgoing Jonathan Kodjia pretty well, and could certainly fill the goalscoring void in Readings side next year.

Reading's top scorer is currently Yann Kermorgant who only has 10, so a striker will definitely be only the shortlist for next year. Abraham can be that striker.
