Reading are eyeing a move for Bruno

Bruno, 22, can operate as a right-back or a left-back and is renowned for his versatility and would add a new element to the defensive options at the Berkshire club.

The Portuguese defender mainly plays for FC Porto B and has thus far accrued 32 appearances for the club.

Scouts from the Berkshire club have reportedly been watching the highly-rated defender, however they face competition from Championship high-flyers AFC Bournemouth.

The 5ft 9 defender has made seven appearances for the Portugal under-18 national side, and has also accrued 12 appearances for the Portugal under-19 side.

Reading currently sit in 16th position in the Sky Bet Championship, having amassed 37 points from 30 league games.

Steve Clarke's side reached the quarter finals of the FA Cup on Saturday after defeating Steve McClaren's Derby County 2-1 at the iPro Stadium.

However, Clarke has admitted that the league is the priority for the club and that avoiding relegation is paramount.

"For the fans the FA Cup's been good in an overall disappointing season," Clarke told BBC Radio Berkshire.

"But the league's the priority. We must get away from the bottom of the table."

Clarke added: "Seven points is too small a gap with 16 games to go and we have to make sure we keep picking up league points.

Yakubu, who scored the winner on Saturday admitted his delight at getting the pivotal goal that sealed the tie telling BBC Sport: "As a striker you want to score goals, it gives you more confidence at a new club. I've been working hard for the last two weeks and I had the opportunity to come on and score the winner.

"In the league, the play-offs are gone I think but we don't want to get dragged in to a relegation battle.

"It's a a long way to Wembley still but if we can get a good draw, we'll take it from there."
