Reading skipper Liam Moore has revealed that he is frustrated the Royals left Elland Road with nothing on Saturday as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat.

Pablo Hernandez scored the crucial goal for Leeds when he stabbed into the top corner from inside the box after his initial attempt had been blocked.

Speaking to The Reading Chronicle after the game, Moore said: "We've got to come away proud. Leeds are one of, if not the best team in the league - but we're so frustrated. I felt we defended really well early on, we were compact and they didn't really have many clear-cut chances.

"We had a lot of chances in the first half - when we're going two vs two or three vs two on the counter attack we need to make the most of it.

"It's a disappointing goal to concede, with the ricochets [in the build-up to the goal] - I think a point would have been a fair result."

Royals keeper Rafael Cabral was on top form as he denied Ezgjan Alioski before Moore was in the right place at the right time to block an effort from Helder Costa.

Kiko Casilla was forced into action down the other end as he turned away an effort by George Puscas.

Mateusz Klich went close for Leeds shortly after the interval before Hernandez struck with the only goal of the game.

Casilla pushed away a shot from Moore in second-half injury time after the defender had swiveled and got a shot away.

The defeat now leaves the Royals 16th in the table with eight points separating them and Wigan Athletic who are inside the relegation zone.

The Verdict

Moore is right to be feeling frustrated after the defeat at Leeds.

Reading kept Leeds at bay for the majority of the game as Marcelo Bielsa's side only had five shots on target during the duration of the 90 minutes.

The Royals skipper will be wanting his side to take heart from their performance and build on it in the games that they have coming up over the next week.
