Reading look set to beat Leeds United to the signing of Lewis Grabban, according to Yorkshire Post journalist Phil Hay.

Bournemouth man Grabban was linked with Leeds earlier in the day, but it now looks like the former Norwich and Rotherham striker could be set to sign for Jaap Stam and Reading.

Grabban has been 0ut of favour for the Cherries this term since failing to secure a place in the team following a £7m move to the club. The form of Callum Wilson, Josh King and Benik Afobe has meant Grabban has found chances hard to come by.

With Reading flying high in the Championship table, the addition of another goal getter like Grabban looks to be a smart piece of business by their Dutch manager Stam. Indeed the Royals have already been active today, notably adding Reece Oxford to their ranks earlier today.

The Royals sit firmly in the playoff places in the Championship table and will be looking for a strong second half of the season to cement their top six place.
