Reading are expected to bring Liverpool youngster Ovie Ejaria back to the Madejski Stadium on loan before the deadline today.

The talented midfielder joined the Royals on loan in January and played 16 games as they managed to avoid relegation to League One, and he impressed with his technical ability.

Therefore, Jose Gomes has been keen on securing Ejaria again but Liverpool were initially holding out for a permanent transfer.

However the Sky Sports Transfer Centre (16:42) revealed that an agreement has been reached, with the 21-year-old set to join the Berkshire outfit on loan.

The report also states that the deal will be considered a coup for the Royals as fellow Championship side Brentford had been monitoring the player throughout the summer and were confident that they would be able to bring him in.

Providing this goes through, Ejaria may be involved as the side make the trip to take on Hull City this weekend and he would be one of many new faces involved, with George Puscas, Lucas Joao and Rafael among the recent arrivals in the past few days.

The Verdict

This would be a great signing for Reading as they need more quality in the middle of the park and they know Ejaria will improve the team.

He showed his ability over the final months of last season and he is clearly someone the manager rates.

So, they will be desperate to get this over the line and it will be another fine bit of business from the club in what has been a very productive end to the window.
