Reading's Modou Barrow is on the verge of leaving the Madejski Stadium, report the Reading Chronicle.

The forward has been linked with a move to Denizlispor and according to journalist Courtney Friday a deal has been done and will be completed once it receives international clearance.

Barrow will join the Turkish side on an initial loan but the club has the option to make the move permanent, which if they do so will signal an end to the Gambian's two-year stay at the club.

The 26-year-old played 90 minutes in Reading's opening day encounter with Sheffield Wednesday but missed the weekend's game, likely because he was finalising a move away.

Since arriving from Leeds Barrow has made 82 appearances for the club, scoring 14 and assisting 12, but the summer arrivals of Lucas Joao and George Puscas means the club is more willing to let him leave.

As yet no fee has been reported but with two years left on his contract Barrow should fetch a reasonable fee, which is a bonus for the club considering the player was determined to leave.

The Verdict

Barrow has been one of Reading's key attackers in recent years but if he doesn't want to be at the club any longer then it is the correct decision to allow him to leave.

The Royals would be better suited to bedding in Lucas Joao and George Puscas who could be very exciting for Reading, whilst Danny Loader is also deserving of more game time this season.

Jose Manuel Gomes needs his players to buy into what he is trying to achieve in order to obtain success and if there are any players going against the grain then that could disrupt the dressing room and squad harmony.
