Reading reportedly closing in on learning points deduction fate

Published

on

An announcement over a potential points deduction for Reading could be made in the very near future, indications suggest.

The Sky Bet Championship has increasingly seen sides handed points deductions in recent years relating to financial matters, with the likes of Wigan Athletic, Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County, most recently, all handed sanctions.

Indeed, Reading look set to be next up and we’re just waiting to see how many points the Royals are going to have taken from their tally in the league table.

They’ve started the season well enough, of course, and will feel as though they can deal with the deduction without it causing them too many issues, and it sounds as though we’ll find out their fate in the near future.

As per the Reading Chronicle, “a public announcement should be made soon,” over the deduction and so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens there with the Royals.

The Verdict

There’s a feeling Reading might not get as hard hit as some other sides but it does seem as though a form of penalty is going to be heading their way in the very near future now.

As mentioned, they have had a solid campaign so far and lie just inside the top half of the table so they will feel as though they will be able to take this hurdle on and not let it affect them too much.
