Reading have rejected a bid from Turkish side, Antalyaspor for winger, Mo Barrow according to a report from Get Reading.

It isn't clear as to how much the offer was for the Gambian, but the Royals have wasted no time in rejecting the bid and have insisted that Barrow is not for sale this summer.

He's a player that has divided opinion at the Madejski Stadium, although he scored some crucial goals for Jose Gomes' men last season.

In 35 league appearances, he scored four goals, which included the winner against Ipswich Town at Portman Road late into the Championship season, as Reading avoided relegation into League One.

He was deployed as a makeshift striker at times last season for the Royals, and his pace has caused problems for opposition defences on a regular basis.

Reading's owners are said to have named Barrow as one of five first-team players that are not for sale heading into the new Championship season.

It had previously been revealed by The Sun, that Reading were under a 'soft transfer ban', so it's likely that the club will be open to selling a number of first-team players in the near future.

The Verdict:

I'm surprised they're in a position to be rejecting any bids for Barrow if I'm honest.

It's no secret that Reading are struggling to trim the wage bill heading into the new season, and I was expecting them to cash in on Barrow at the earliest of opportunities.

He's a key player for the Royals, and is the sort of player they should be building their team around next season in the Championship.
