Reading midfielder Andy Rinomhota has said that the Royals are looking to bounce back from the defeat against Birmingham City on the weekend, as they take on Barnsley tomorrow evening at Oakwell.

The Berkshire side have two upcoming lengthy away trips in the space of 72 hours, as they also face Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium this coming Saturday. In spite of that, the focus at present will be the upcoming clash against bottom side Barnsley.

Both games could be classed as early season 'six-pointers', and speaking to the club website, the 22-year-old midfielder has said the players are focusing on themselves.

“They say they’re six-point games because if you’re getting the three points, you’re stopping them getting three points as well," Rinomohta said.

Reading have had a dip in form of late, losing three of their last four Championship games, the side's worst run of form yet under Mark Bowen.

However, the Royals have a chance to make amends, and Rinomohota says that the next two games against Barnsley and Stoke are must-win for the club.

“All the games coming up are going to be tough, and the teams are around us in the table too, so they’re must-win games, really," he said.

“So, it gives you a bit of leeway if you can win and get away from them being around us in the table."

Rinomhota has featured sixteen times for Reading this season in central midfield, and could make his 50th appearance for the club if he is chosen to start against Barnsley tomorrow evening.

Reading will have added confidence going into the game at Oakwell knowing that they are unbeaten against their upcoming opponents in four games, last losing to Barnsley in March 2014.

The Verdict

It is not too early for this upcoming clash to be categorised as a 'six-pointer', with the two sides separated by six places in the table.

Although Barnsley need the points more than Reading, a win for the Royals could lift them above Charlton into 17th place, increasing the gap to the relegation zone below them.

Gerhard Struber has got Barnsley playing better football, so it will be a tough test for Mark Bowen's side.
