Reading manager still waiting for transfer budget

Reading manager Steve Clarke says he’s still waiting to hear from the owners about how much he has to spend in the transfer market this summer, according to Get Reading reporter Charles Watts.
The former West Brom boss talked a few weeks ago about the fact that he was yet to hear news about how much he had to spend this summer, but a meeting had been organised with the owners to sort it all out.
But it is understood that Clarke is still yet to hear anything, and though a meeting did happen, nothing was resolved by the two parties.
Reading have been linked with a number of players this summer, and the Scot himself said that the club have a number of deals that they’re waiting to push over the line – but he’s still waiting to hear back from the club’s owners.
Stephen Quinn and Paul McShane are two players said to be in discussions with the Royals, and are understood to be two of the players they’re set to sign.
