Reading FC have got their fair share of players that simply aren't going to feature anytime soon, and their future at the Madejski Stadium could soon be resolved.

One of those players is Marc McNulty, who was sent out on loan to Hibernian earlier this year, in search of regular game time away from the Championship side.

In a recent interview, McNulty revealed that he is keen to have his future resolved at the earliest of opportunities with a return to Reading edging closer.

McNulty had struggled for game time Reading in the first-half of this year's league campaign and it came as no surprise to see him loaned out in January's transfer window.

The Scotsman has wasted no time in showing the Royals what they're missing out on as well as he has gone on to score seven goals for Hibs this season.

With the former Coventry City striker already coming out and voicing his thoughts on wanting his future resolved ASAP speaks volumes.

McNulty will already know that he is behind the likes of Yakou Meite and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson in the pecking order in Jose Gomes' side.

You also have to think that Andrija Novakovich is going to return to the Madejski Stadium after his loan spell and will be ahead of McNulty in the pecking order.

This will be hugely frustrating for the 26-year-old, who has been in impressive form recently up in Scotland.

But on the other hand, he could see this as a positive, as it will mean that his future can be resolved sooner rather than later, which will be a bonus for McNulty.

It certainly wouldn't come as a surprise to see Hibernian tempt Reading with a formal offer for his services, as his future in Berkshire looks in doubt.

With Reading confirming their status as a Championship club for another season, it seems unlikely that he'll feature much for the Royals next season and a move elsewhere could be the best move for both parties involved.
