Reading have had a rather poor start to the season, but since Mark Bowen has come in as manager their form has rekindled somewhat.

The Royals have picked up ten points out of the last 12 available to them and will be hoping that this impressive run can continue when they travel to Brentford on Saturday.

One man who hasn't yet played under the new manager is Lucas Boye. The Argentinian joined for a season-long loan from Italian side Torino, and is hoping to continue his development but in Berkshire.

The attack-minded player will be wondering where he'll fit into the team after Bowen has kept the same attacking players for the last four games.

Boye will be hoping he can have a chance off the bench at some point to prove why he should be in the team over one of the forwards in George Puscas or Sam Baldock.

The problem that he has is that he is predominantly a winger, or an inside forward. Reading are currently playing a 5-3-2 formation with two wing-backs and then two strikers which means he doesn't quite fit into either of those positions with the way he plays.

Boye has a lot of quality and has actually shown that on several occasions so far already this season and netted the equaliser in the Carabao Cup clash at Premier League side Wolves.

In the Championship, he's mainly been used as a super sub so far, and he'll be aiming to work hard and when he gets a chance he has to make sure he takes it. He'll only be able to do that with hard work.

Despite Reading's lowly position in the table, they do have a lot of quality in their ranks and many options to pick from for the upcoming fixtures. Boye is now one of them and this healthy competition will only play into Bowen's hands as he looks to find out who's up for the challenge.
