Reading are locked in a transfer tussle with both QPR and Swansea City to the potential signing or Rajiv van La Parra according to Dutch media outlet VI.
Van La Parra is currently a free-agent after his contract with Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade reached a conclusion earlier in the year.
He is a name that English football fans will know well, with the winger catching the eye with a number of impressive performances for Huddersfield Town.
The Dutchman played his part in the Terriers’ win over Reading in the 2017 Championship play-off final as well, as they won promotion into the top-flight.
But he only made 11 appearances for Red Star Belgrade in his last season, and will be eager to find himself a new club at the earliest of opportunities.
A move to the Madejski Stadium could be tempting for van La Parra as well, with the Royals currently sat second in the Championship after their opening four matches of the season.
Whilst Swansea City are also in contention to challenge for promotion into the Premier League, with Steve Cooper’s side fourth in the second-tier standings.
QPR are also believed to be interested in signing van La Parra, with Mark Warburton’s side looking at signing a player to provide the creative spark in their team, after selling Ebere Eze earlier in the summer transfer window.

I like the sound of this deal for Reading.
The Royals need additional depth in wide areas of their team, and van La Parra would provide them with that if he signed for the Berkshire-based side.
Van La Parra has experience of playing in the Championship as well, having played his part in Huddersfield Town’s promotion-winning league campaign.
He’s not exactly ‘kicked on’ since then, and will feel as though he has a point to prove back in English football.
But the Royals face a real fight to land his signature, with Swansea and QPR are believed to be keen on a deal to sign him in the near future.
