Former Reading winger Jimmy Kebe posted a hilarious response on Twitter after a debate was sparked by a Royals fan account.

The former Mali international was a fans favourite at Reading and was influential in their second promotion to the Premier League, playing a big part in Brian McDermott's team.

His sprint speed often got supporters off of their seats and provided them with a wealth of entertainment which pleased the Reading fans.

This week, Mark Bowen replaced the sacked Jose Gomes as Royals manager and one Twitter account asked this question, which got a response from Kebe:

The tweet asked whether a fully fit Jimmy Kebe would get into the current Royals XI under Bowen, to which he responded 'Oh I better get fit and ready quickly to go where I belong', he then did some running emojis and a wink face.

This only enhances Kebe's reputation at Reading and Royals fans will hope to see him back and watching a game at the Madejski Stadium in the near future.

The ex winger is now a professional poker player since his retirement from football.

The Verdict

Kebe was always a cult hero, and he was loved by Royals supporters as he always gave 100% and was quite a lively character on the pitch during some very good times.

Posts like these, make it sink in that Reading now have a side that isn't anywhere near the level that the one that Kebe played for was. They need to hope Bowen can reform the side and get them pushing up the table.

Who knows, maybe one day Kebe will come back to work at the club in a different role to before.
