Three Championship sides are interested in the signing of Ipswich defender Tommy Smith, the print edition of the Sun reports (Monday edition, page 51).
The club’s interested in signing the centre-back are Fulham, Reading and Blackburn Rovers.
All clubs seem to have spaces open for an incoming centre-back. Fulham have offloaded Dan Burn and Shaun Hutchinson and they are reportedly willing to make an offer of £750,000 for Smith.
Elsewhere, Anton Ferdinand has left Reading and Blackburn centre-back pair Shane Duffy and Grant Hanley are highly sought after and could end up leaving Rovers.
Meanwhile Ipswich Town have also added a centre-back this summer with Adam Webster arriving from Portsmouth, so Mick McCarthy may be more willing to let the New Zealand international leave.
However, he has played a key part in the Ipswich Town side in the last few seasons with over 250 appearances for the Tractor Boys, including 45 starts last season.
Ipswich fans… Do you think Tommy Smith would be allowed to leave? If so, would you be disappointed to see Smith depart? Let us know down below!
