Championship side Reading have had a fourth bid for Clayton Donaldson rejected by Birmingham City, according to HITC Sport.
The 31-year-old striker joined the Blues on a free transfer last summer from Brentford after he rejected a new contract at the Bees following their promotion from League One.
Leeds United have had a bid rejected for his signature but didn’t carry their interest any further, unlike Reading, who started off with a £500,000 bid escalating to £800,000 and then £1 million, all plus add ons.
They have now had an offer of £2 million plus add-ons rejected by Birmingham as Gary Rowett remains intent on keeping his star players this summer for a push towards promotion this coming season.
However, with Leeds and Ipswich lingering, it is unknown as to whether Reading will continue their interest as they search for a new striker this summer.
