Journalist Courtney Friday has given Reading fans good news amid rumours that a key man might be leaving the club.
Sports Witness have reported (via Gazzetta dello sport) that Sampdoria could be lining up a deal for the Royals’ top scorer Yakou Meite.
However, Friday has said that Reading will not be considering any offers for the forward this summer, and that his future remains at the Madejski Stadium.
Understand #readingfc are prepared to stand their ground over Yakou Meite. Player not for sale. End of.

The Ivorian forward has been at Reading since 2016 after he joined the club from PSG.
He played 37 times in the league this season and contributed 12 goals and one assist.
This is bound to be music to the ears of the Reading fans, as he was the only player to get into double figures for goals last year.
However, baring in mind there have only been fairly loose rumours linking him to Sampdoria, this tweet might make Reading fans anxious that interest is growing in their star forward.
The club could do with freeing some funds if they are wanting to reinvest due to their limits with Financial Fair Play, however, Meite is the last player they want to lose.
With players such as Sam Baldock taking up a large chunk of the wage bill without being a starter, they need to try and clear the fringe players who aren’t justifying their wage before they can go into the market themselves.
