Reading FC weighing up transfer swoop for 19-goal striker

Reading are eyeing a move for Viktoria Plzeň striker Michael Krmencik in what would be Paul Clement’s second signing as manager of the Royals.

According to HITC, Clement is looking to add fire power to their attack this summer by bringing in the Czech Republic international.

Reading finished the season three points clear of the relegation zone in 20th place in the Championship, with the third lowest scoring record in the division.

Krmencik plays his football in the Czech Republic first division, and has scored 19 goals in 33 games in all competitions for Viktoria Plzen so far this campaign.

Royal boss Paul Clement is understood to have watched Krmencik play last weekend against FK Teplice, where the Czech Republic international scored.

The Verdict

Reading certainly are in desperate need of a new striker, after finishing this season rather disappointingly.

Whether Michael Krmencik is the perfect replacvement will not be known unless the transfer takes place, but Paul Clement will have his work cut out without a new front man coming in this summer.

Having scored just 48 goals, it is worth putting paying the money Viktoria Plzeň are after to secure Krmencik’s signature this summer.
