Reading have agreed a deal with League Two leaders Plymouth Argyle, that will see striker Craig Tanner extend his loan until the end of the current season, the Pilgrims have confirmed.
Negotiations between the Championship side and the table topping Pilgrims started over the festive period, and today were concluded with the 21-year-old forward extending his stay at Home Park for the remainder of the current campaign.
Tanner has made 29 appearances for the Pilgrims and has scored several goals – his displays for Argyle have been one of the reasons why the Greens currently top the League Two table.
One of his goals was special to the Green Army, where he ran from his own half beating three Exeter city players before coolly slotted past the helpless Exeter keeper.
Plymouth manager Derek Adams was keen to keep Tanner, as he seemingly sees him as vital player for the push for promotion from English football’s basement.
The Pilgrims will be happy to keep this exciting young forward, and may hope that in the summer Argyle may be able to convince Reading to sell him to the club on a permanent deal.
