Reading manager Jaap Stam is working hard to put the final touches to his squad ahead of his side’s push for the top six, and the Dutchman has certainly been turning heads in the final days of the summer transfer window.

The Royals have secured a massive deal for Fulham forward Sone Aluko, and now Stam is being linked with a move for Norwich striker Nelson Oliveira.

The Portuguese was recently called up to the Portugal national team for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers, and could potentially be on the move before the close of the window.

The 26-year-old is one the finest strikers in the division, and when he can put together a run of games, there aren’t many who can boast a better record in front of goal.

The player only joined the Canaries last summer on a permanent deal from Benfica following a loan spell with Leeds United, and already has 14 league goals to his name in only 32 league outings.

It will take a huge bid to convince an under fire Daniel Farke to part ways with the player, who has scored 3 times in only 2 starts in the league this season.

Why Oliveira is often overlooked for Cameron Jerome is questionable, although the former Birmingham man does have a fantastic record at Carrow Road.

However, Oliveira is a phenomenal natural striker, and it comes as a surprise that he is not the undisputed number one in East Anglia.

Stam has proven that Reading have cash to burn having seen a £7.5 million bid for Aluko accepted, and if the Dutchman can acquire the funds to swoop for Oliveira, he would be acquiring arguably the best forward in the entire division.
