Reading FC starlet Tarique Fosu is set to be sent out on loan to a lower league club, according to Get Reading.
Fosu, 19, is an academy product for the Royals and a regular in their impressive Under-21 team that is currently doing very well in the Under-21 Premier League.
He looked to have made a breakthrough into the first team at the end of last season, where he wowed fans in a 60 minute cameo against Derby County, coming on as substitute for Jack Stacey in the 30th minute.
He continued to impress in pre-season on the left wing, but thanks to incoming players such as Lucas Piazon, Paolo Hurtado and Ola John, he’s plummeted down the pecking order once more.
And now manager Steve Clarke believes he’s ready to go out on loan, but is yet to receive any offers – Clarke told Get Reading: “He [Fosu] needs regular football.
“I would like someone to come and take him on loan. It would be really good for Tariqe.
“At the moment we’re just waiting for his performances in the Under-21s to hopefully catch the eye of one of the clubs in the lower leagues who will come along and ask us to have Tariqe for a short spell.
“We would be agreeable to do that. Tariqe is in a little cross over position at the moment.
“You would have thought someone would have come in for him but sometimes when you’re down in the lower leagues you’re looking for different type of players.
“You have to manage the loans as we are finding just now. You have to be careful with how many you bring into your club.”
Reading have made a hot start to the season, but face a tough match on Saturday, as they face league leaders Brighton and Hove Albion at home this weekend.
They’ll miss midfield bomber Aaron Tshibola, who looks set to be out until next year with an ankle injury.
