Reading are struggling near the bottom of the Championship table this year, having had points deducted - but, ahead of this weekend, Berkshire Live has reported that two players could be set for a return to action for them.

It's a big boost for the side, as they will need all the players that they possibly can available to them in a bid to try and push up the league and back towards promotion.

They've managed to limit themselves to just one defeat in their last five games and they are now five points clear of the drop zone but they will want to be much higher up the table come the end of the campaign.

Reading have managed to pull off wins over both Swansea and Birmingham but face a tough test in their next tie against West Brom. The Baggies are right up near the other end of the table, so it won't be easy for the Royals, but they will be boosted by the return of two players to the squad.

Both Liam Moore and Junior Hoilett have been training with the first-team this week after being sidelined and could soon feature again in the first-team for Reading.

The latter of the two has only managed four starts this year but has a goal to his name and has plenty of experience at this level - which prove important to the Royals for the rest of the season if he is available for selection.

As for Moore, he has featured much more prominently, making 16 appearances in total. He has been a key player for Veljko Paunovic's side but has had to spend the last few weeks on the sidelines.

Now though, he is back in training and it's a welcome boost ahead of what could be a crunch clash against West Brom. If they can get him on the field - and Hoilett - then it would a be a big positive for Reading in that game.

The Verdict

Junior Hoilett knows what it takes to compete at this level and Liam Moore has been key for Reading.

For both of them to be sidelined was a blow so it's great news for Royals fans to hear they are now back in training.

It doesn't necessarily mean they will feature this weekend but it's good that they are slowly improving. The sooner that both of them can return to the fold the better for the side - and will no doubt help them kick on in the second half of the season.
