Reading should be boosted by the return of Nelson Oliveira as they look to climb out of the relegation zone with a victory against Blackburn tonight.

The Portuguese forward hasn't played since he suffered a broken nose and some horrific facial injuries from the well-publicised stamping incident involving Tyrone Mings at the start of the month.

However, journalist Jonathan Low revealed on Twitter this afternoon that the 27-year-old will be involved against Rovers.

Whether it's as a substitute or from the start remains to be seen, but having Oliveira back is great news for the Royals and Jose Gomes.

They currently occupy the final relegation spot and have failed to score in their previous two games which have ended goalless.

Therefore, the ex-Norwich City man, who has already opened his account for Reading in just two appearances, could be vital as they look for some inspiration in the final third.

The Berkshire outfit know that a win over Tony Mowbray's men will see them leapfrog Rotherham and jump out of the bottom three.

The Verdict

This is great news for Reading and for Oliveira, who suffered what was a truly horrendous injury against Aston Villa and it could've been so much worse.

He is going to be a major player for the Royals this season and Gomes will want him out on the pitch as soon as possible.

It appears he will feature tonight and he provides that cutting edge that the team have lacked recently.
