Reading FC are preparing a season-long loan move for Norwich City striker Gary Hooper, according to FLW sources.

Hooper, 26, has been the subject of interest ever since the Canaries were relegated from the Barclays Premier League last season.

The striker joined Norwich from Celtic last summer and accumulated 32 league appearances, and scored six goals for the Canaries.

Norwich have already signed two strikers this summer, following the arrivals of Lewis Grabban and Kyle Lafferty.

Hooper looks ever more likely to depart Carrow Road this summer, and Championship side Reading are eager to take the striker on loan for the season.

Reading manager Nigel Adkins managed Hooper during their time at Scunthorpe, and the Royals boss is keen to reunite with the  26-year-old.
