Having also signed a new contract at Reading, it appears as though he's set for a bright future at the club and could be given a chance next season.

The current goalkeeping situation sees Rafael Cabral and Sam Walker as the two first-team goalkeepers in the Reading squad, although this could all change after Southwood's loan finishes.

Now, he'll be hoping to be thrown straight back into the Hamilton starting XI for their fixture against Hibernian on Wednesday night.
