Reading’s Sone Aluko has taken to his personal Twitter account to deliver a message to his new club following his arrival from Fulham.

Aluko was a late mover in the summer transfer window, moving from Fulham to Reading in a deal reportedly worth £7.5m.

The forward has now taken to social media, to first of all thank Fulham for a memorable year at Craven Cottage, before expressing his delight at joining Reading, stating his desire to work hard and bring success to the Royals.

The 28-year-old spent just one campaign with Fulham, managing to feature on 47 occasions across the 2016/17 season for the Cottagers, who he helped finish inside the Championship’s top-six.

Over the course of the season Aluko bagged eight Championship goals, also adding 10 assists to that tally, as Slavisa Jokanovic’s side went in search of Premier League football.

Reading eventually beat Fulham and Aluko in the play-off semi-final last season, ending their Premier League dream.

Aluko has now made the switch from Fulham to the Madejski Stadium, where he will be looking to make his debut against Bristol City on Saturday.

Jaap Stam’s side have so far picked up seven-points from their opening five fixtures of the Championship season.

The Verdict

Reading’s supporters will be excited about seeing Aluko line up for them in the coming weeks, with the forward’s addition having the potential to be one of the summer’s best signings.

If Aluko can rediscover the form he showed for Fulham last season then Reading will significantly improve in the final third.

Saturday’s cash with Bristol City will be the perfect opportunity for Aluko to showcase his talent, with Reading and Stam looking for back-to-back Championship victories for the first time this season.
