Reading FC have held talks with AFC Bournemouth striker Yann Kermorgant, according to Get Reading.

The French target man scored 27 goals in 68 appearances for the Cherries, but is yet to make a start in the Premier League, his only goal this season came from the League Cup victory against Hartlepool in August.

Reading have been struggling with goals this season, scoring only eight goals in their last 10 games which led to two wins, two draws and six defeats.

With the sale of Nick Blackman, along with the struggling form of Matej Vydra and Orlando Sa, it is understandable why manager Brian McDermott would like to strengthen his front line.

Reading have had success with big men up front such as Kevin Doyle, Jason Roberts and Pavel Pogrebnyak.

McDermott brought in Roberts when he was 34 and he played a key role in their title winning season.

If Kermorgant can replicate his form from last season with the Cherries, he can certainly help the Royals challenge for promotion.
