Reading FC are in pole position to sign Crystal Palace striker Kwesi Appiah on loan until the end of the season, according to sports journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Appiah, 24, has been on loan at Cambridge United this season and has accumulated six goals in 19 appearances for the Sky Bet League Two club.
The Ghanian is highly-rated at Selhurst Park but is seemingly not in the first-team plans of Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew as of yet.
The 5ft 11 forward has struggled to cement his place at a particular club during his professional career, and has often found himself shipped out on loan.
Appiah has had spells at Aldershot Town, Yeovil Town, Cambridge United, Notts County and AFC Wimbeldon, so he is no stranger to the rigours and demands of lufe in the Football League.
Steve Clarke’s Reading have endured an incredibly mediocre season in the Championship, and currently sit in 19th position, having accrued 44 points from 38 league games.
