Championship side Reading are eyeing a loan swoop for Chelsea starlet Ruben Loftus-Cheek, according to HITC Sport.
The 19-year-old has been on the fringes of the Chelsea team this season but has so far been unable to force his way into the first-team, even though he is highly thought of by manager Jose Mourinho.
Loftus-Cheek is keen to go out on loan when the transfer window opens in the new year, although a temporary move away from Stamford Bridge will depend if Mourinho feels he has sufficient cover.
Reading face stiff competition from clubs in the Premier League and across Europe for the England Under-21 international, but it would be a shrewd purchase if the Berkshire side could attain the services of the midfielder.
The Royals side started off the season well but one win from their last eight games has seen Reading slip to 9th in the Championship table, which has ultimately led to Steve Clarke getting the sack.
The Royals were beaten by Queens Park Rangers on Thursday night at the Madejski Stadium thanks to a single goal from Nedum Onouha.
