Royals winger McCleary, along with centre back Hector, are both part of the Jamaican squad for the tournament which kicks off in just under a weeks time.

Jamaica were invited as guests to the show-piece event which will feature the likes of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Alexis Sanchez.

They are the first ever Caribbean team to play in the tournament, and McCleary is buzzing with anticipation.

He told Get Reading: “When he (Schafer) told us we were going to be picked to play in the Copa América I felt so much pride.

““I think it’s going to be really tough, but it’s a really great opportunity to pit our wits against some of the best teams in the world.”

Jamaica’s first game will take place on June 13th as they come up against Luis Suarez’s Uruguay in Group B.
