Reading are considering a deal for Aalesund FK winger Edwin Gyasi, according to GHANAsoccernet.

The 26-year-old has spent the majority of his career in Holland, and moved to the Norway from Roda last year.

Gyasi’s switch to Aaselund has been a complete success, with the winger excelling in the Scandinavian country.

9 goals in 42 league appearances is a solid return for a wide player, and Jaap Stam is now keen on bringing the player to the Madejski Stadium before the transfer window slams shut this week.

The Dutchman is looking to bolster his squad having struggled in the early months of the summer window, and increasing his attacking options is a priority, as the Royals go in search of another top six finish.

Gyasi is a talented, pacey winger, and his ability to deliver a ball into the box, as well as contribute goals will be a huge draw to Stam, as goals throughout the team will ensure Reading compete for a playoff spot.

Stam completed the signing of goalscoring midfielder David Edwards from Wolves last week, and Gyasi could follow the Welshman to Berkshire.

The Verdict: Gyasi is a talented winger who has played the majority of his career in the Dutch top flight, and his form in Norway has proven his ability to potential suitors.

It would be a gamble to bring the player to English football, having never played in the country before, but one that could seriously pay off if Gyasi finds his feet.

The player has added goals to his game whilst in Norway, and if he can replicate this at Reading, then Stam will have another outlet for goals on his hands.
