Reading FC boss Brian McDermott has described on loan Benfica winger, Ola John as a “little magician” after his winning goal at Bolton Wanderers last weekend.

The winger came off the bench to score a 30-yard last-gasp winner over bottom of the table side Bolton Wanderers.

The Royals broke their winless streak and McDermott was extremely pleased with John’s influence on the game.

Speaking to reporters after the match: “It was a moment of brilliance, Ola came on and changed the direction of the game, so it’s fabulous for him.”

The Royals would have been disappointed if they only came away with a draw as they dominated 75 per cent of the possession throughout the game.

That was Ola John’s fourth goal in 28 appearances for the club and McDermott would certainly want to make his spell in Berkshire permanent this summer.

McDermott will be hoping that John can replicate his performance when they when they face Nottingham Forest at the Madejski Stadium tomorrow night.
