According to HITC Sport, Ben Pearson is attracting interest from a trio of clubs, with Burnley, Reading and Sunderland reportedly tracking the Preston North End man.

Pearson has turned in some impressive performances for North End so far this season, playing a crucial role for Alex Neil’s side in the Sky Bet Championship.

The midfielder has made three appearances in the Championship, having missed Preston’s defeat to Derby, due to a suspension he picked up following a red-card in the clash with Leeds United – a game where Pearson was particularly impressive, despite his dismissal.

Pearson returned for Preston’s fixture with Reading at the weekend, and was instrumental as the Lilywhites picked up their second victory of the season.

Reading are one Championship club reportedly interested in Pearson, along with Sunderland – Two clubs who have made indifferent starts to the 2017/18 campaign.

Burnley are also considering offering Pearson a route into the Premier League, and having just spent £15m on Chris Wood from Leeds, they are preparing to flex their financial muscle again on 22-year-old Pearson.

Preston are preparing themselves for bids for the midfielder before the transfer window closes at the end of this month, but they are reluctant to lose the influential midfielder.

The Verdict

Pearson’s form so far this season has been excellent, and during his time with Preston, he has established himself as one of the Championship's best midfielders.

Interest in the midfielder is no surprise, but Preston will look to dig their heels in and retain Pearson’s service, particularly with how influential he is in Neil’s system.

However, money can often talk in football, as we have seen with Wood’s transfer to Burnley, and there is every chance that Preston could be tested with a serious offer before the end of the month.
