Bristol City and Reading will go to head-to-head in the summer to sign Barnsley winger Adam Hammill, according to the Sun.
The former Liverpool and Huddersfield Town man has been in scintillating form for the Tykes this term, especially since Christmas, and played a crucial part in the clubs recent JPT Trophy victory at Wembley.
Hammill has contributed seven goals to the cause this term as Barnsley have climbed from the foot of the table, to be in with a real shot of making the final play-off place if things go to plan between now and the end of the season.
The winger is currently enjoying his second spell with the club, signing in November of last year on a short team deal. He previously spent time at Oakwell between 2009 and 2011, before moving onto Wolves after impressing for the Tykes.
His form now seems to have attracted the interest of clubs in the league above, and Reading and Bristol City look poised to make their move should Hammill decide to move on from Oakwell.
It would be a bitter blow for Barnsley, who surely see Hammill as integral to their plans going forward next season.
